What is a cut off wheel?
Cut off wheels, also known as ''parting wheels'', are self-sharpening wheels that are thin in width and often have radial fibers to reinforce its sharpness. It cuts alloys that other techniques, such as sawing, can only cut with prohibitively high effort or often not at all.
Will a cut off wheel cut wood?
The short answer is yes. But it's not ideal and most pros would advise against using a metal cutting disc to cut wood. Why is that? Because using an abrasive blade to on a grinder to cut a combustible material like wood could result in tragedy.
